Part 1: The Rise and fall of the Warconian Race
Eons ago, an advanced civilization known as the Zaurakiansť began to explore the cosmos, but in their quest for knowledge and conquest caused problems with other races which lead to an interstellar war that lasted for centuries.
Being a race of scientists and engineers, they needed a warrior caste to do their fighting and be subservient to their wishes. So a scheme was conceived to build one from the ground up. Altering aspects of humanoid DNA to increase strength, speed, endurance, and the normal senses beyond what was thought possible.
The race that was chosen was a peaceful humanoid people, who knew nothing of war and whose gene code was easy to manipulate. Once the Zaurakians conquered their world they wasted no time reconstructing its people into their warriors, and, because this race had no name, they were simply called soldiers.
This slavery went on for generations, as the Zaurakians made new discoveries, such as molecular regeneration that further enhanced strength and endurance to the point of near invulnerability and gravity nullification which gifted them with the powers of flight. Weapons were developed allowing energy projection and shield capability. The soldiers then truly became the fist of the Zaurakians, smashing world after world without mercy.
After centuries of genetic manipulation, the Zaurakian soldiers had gone from being simple humanoids to the most feared warriors in the galaxy.
When the wars finally ended, The soldiers who had been bred for combat were given a world to retire upon, rule, and populate as they saw fit. Without a war to fight, the newly christened Raanians turned those energies toward remaking their world and living a life of peace. A wave of pacifism swept across Raania and this allowed them to tap the limitless potential of the mind. Through different mental exercises and techniques they unlocked regions of the brain left dormant in most humanoid species, thus amplifying their intelligence and allowing them access to about 90% of the mind. From this came remorse and guilt for all they had been forced to fight and destroy over the centuries. Many believed they must restore the rightful balance in the galaxy and free the countless billions under the Zaurakian’s heel.
The Zaurakians who now controlled 3/4 of the galaxy, were becoming uneasy that their warriors had adopted peace so easily, and that rumors of insurrection were beginning to grow.
Finally a delegation from Raania went to the Zaurakian homeworld to petition for independence. This open act of defiance and treason angered the ruling council and the delegation was murdered on the spot.
Within 12 hours of the assassinations a battlefleet of no less than 100 ships was dispatched to Raania to obliterate
the planet from orbit before rebellion could spread.
When the fleet arrived the Raanians were caught unsuspecting and within a days time, most of the planet had been
destroyed by high orbit bombardment.
The Zaurakians were precise and meticulous in their plan of extermination, after the orbital attack, a weapon was exploded
in the upper atmosphere that contaminated the Raanians DNA and killed millions instantly, destroying all plant and
animal life, contaminating the biosphere leaving the planet unable to support life.
Unknown to the Zaurakians, Raanian scientists had analyzed the toxin used to murder their world,
and from an underground lab protected from the devastation had created a cure but it came too late, soon all Raanians
were infected and only had days to live.
In a desperate move to save their race from certain doom, a liferaft of sorts was launched and carried thousands of drones fitted with Raanian DNA and artifacts were seed new habitable worlds, in the hope that the Raanian race would live again on some distant planet far out of reach of the Zaurakians.
Finally after the last Raanian had died, the main computer detected that all life had been extinguished and launched the liferaft into
deep space.
The drones shot out into different directions, searching for worlds where the DNA would have a chance to grow. Many of them met
their fate while crossing the void of the cosmos, crashing into asteroids, flying into stars, one even went into the event horizon of a
black hole. However one of the probes entered the Sol system and streaked toward the 3rd planet, a world known as Earth.
The entry into Earth’s atmosphere was not smooth, for one of the containers fitted to the drive broke off and without the
counterbalance it began to tumble. This caused it to lose control and crash before the seeding protocols could be activated.
The tiny drone impacted and was buried by a rockslide, becoming an unmarked grave, entombing it for uncounted centuries...
until now, when it's uncovered.
